What a fabulous note to have in your possession dated 1886!
ReplyDeleteHow nice to have a handwritten letter to a family member that is that old! People had such pretty handwriting then!
ReplyDeletePeggy this is fantastic! I love this idea. I used to have autograph books and when I was 10 yrs. old I was never so mystified as when I read what my aunt (a school teacher and very prim) wrote in my book: As the night follows the day, to thine own self be true. From Hamlet (hope I got the quote exact). I read and re-read and re-read and puzzled it for days and never did get what it meant. Now in my older years it is my favorite quote (okay one of my favs. at least). *smiles* Norma
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful thing to have thanks for sharing Peggy.
ReplyDeleteHow very, very charming! Aren't you lucky to have such a treasure? I adore the thought that autograph books, guest books and scrapbooks meant so much to those wonderful women and men, and that so much thought went into what they wanted to leave in writing. Little did she know that we would all be viewing it and appreciating it in 2011. What a treat this was!
ReplyDeleteOh how wonderful; such a special & pretty note. Thanks for sharing.
