Thank you giveaway, post number 1500 and 200 followers!

While I have been doing art and having fun I see that this post will be # 1500!
Yesterday I had my 200 follower sign on to visit me.
To thank you, I am giving away a shrine I made using the ideas of Michael De Meng from the workshops I have been lucky enough to attend!
I have made some wonderful friends while blogging and enjoy seeing the varied, original, magical, thoughtful, art created at these special places. I love the generosity of bloggers re their art techniques, ideas for projects and supplies, and of course, them taking the time to comment here.
I learn something new EVERY DAY!
I am fortunate to have the time to spend at home doing my art. Being the medicare age does have it's advantages!
I tend to be a bit of a pollyanna and may come across as naive. I'd rather smile than frown, see the positive side of life and deal with sad and difficult occasions by trust, acceptance, and art therapy.

This jester (mom and dad got in in Victoria, Canada) probably best expresses my feelings. It is my favorite piece and sits alone on a nice big shelf where I see him each day. I was 10 or 11 when they bought it and I even remember the tiny shop with the bell on the door where my dad found him. The court jester came home with us and lived on the mantel in the den(old time "family room" then) His expression changes with your mood and he has never failed to make me smile!
That's why I am sharing him. Hope he makes you smile too!

Michael's latest book, all about Mexican art and history of Day of the Dead. I recommend it even if you have never done this type of art!
The small shrine in front is what I will be giving away on Mother's day, May 9th.
Just leave a comment and CONTACT and I will put your name in the hat.

some of my mexican art and Michael's altered dog! Thanks for coming by!!!

One after my own heart, girl! I just bought Michael's book last week! I have been wanting to do some milagros and DOD shrines. Love his humor, which is what really drew me to his book. Hope I can get some made soon. I wish I could go back to Mexico again, knowing what I know now!
Gracias and happy Cinco de Mayo!
