A Virgin a day / 12

My mother's madonna that hangs next to my bed! It is painted on porcelain.
She had 4 paintings in her bedroom and it made me feel as though Mary was a good friend!

Thank you Rebecca for a lovely 12 days!!!

I don't believe I've ever seen this particular madonna, but she seems Flemish or Dutch. It's so good to see her against the backdrop of nature, particularly the light sky. It really makes her stand out. It has been wonderful reading all your posts. I'll see you again, I'm sure, at some of Rebecca's other challenges.

One of my favorite images.
I have used this one in my art too.
I love your special touches you've added. ♥

I think Carol has it right: These are classically lovely Madonnas. Thank you for reminding us of the many ways Mary appears to the world's different peoples.
