Magazine collage continued!

I used 4 pages from Victoria magazine and cut and pasted on cardboard with golden liquid medium. I added my own flowers with golden liquid acrylics, caran d'arch WC crayons , and flower at top I had in my dried flower stash. I tried to lighten some areas where I thought more light would be from the lanterns to try and make it glow!

I think it's done!

Magazine technique/part 1!

I belong to a group which explores different techniques each month for designing papers. This month we are to start with tearing magazine pages and glue them to heavyweight WC paper with fluid gel medium. I have saved my Victoria magazines from the beginning. These 2 collages were done from 4 different 1997 issues. I will be adding to these 8"x10" papers when I do the next step.

"Brush with death"!

This is a mini assemblage for a friend. When I was in Mexico with Michael DeMeng for "the Day of the Dead "workshop, he talked about putting a skull on a brush and calling it, his brush with death! Well, that cracked me up!!!

So , taking his idea a few steps beyond, I decided to create this brush with death!

My First Official Picture Done With My New Apple!

I am in the process of installing a new computer,printer,scanner. I took my harddrive down to apple and pick up my new apple on monday(supossedly with all my info from my old computer saved). My first lesson isn't until the 19th. I am working on my laptop for now. I expect the next few weeks will be challenging to say the least, since the tech words shine on me like a deer caught in headlights!!!! This was a scary zone for me to try, but my 6 year old workhorse dell was really not performing and I thought it might literally EXPLODE!

My son dan and his drummer smith have a new cd produced by Metropolis Records.
They started the band in collage and have self produced 5(+) cd's. This latest is under contract. 15 years later!

Back to doing decoupage today!!!

I picked the theme, "spring is in the air" for my artchix group lottery. The cards being made are so lovely and lots of participants. So I decided the lottery winner would need a cigar box to hold their winnings!! I gessoed the top and than decoupaged a floral image of mine that I digitalized. Added the chixie flower girl and some german scrap and a little paint! Voila, a printemps boit pour les "atcs"!

This morning!

It was so sunny today, I had to get out and take pictures of the spring bulbs before another rain comes!

Crabapple is getting ready to "bust". Wait til you see it in full bloom!

Then after I took the pictures I made myself a piece of cinnamon toast!!!

I started this collage a few weeks ago. I decided to mount it on a 10"x10" board with stand so it stands like a framed picture. I gessoed and colored the background and added the leaves and basket on the bottom. I think it has a more "finished" look!
