Oh dear!!!!!!!
I put them to bed in the guest bedroom for some rest and quiet!
Pretty soon the visitors started arriving!

Well the boys are back from 13 months of traveling and are taking a well needed rest with me before they resume their World Tour!

Remember the snow pictures of them that Jan took? They were so funny in their hats and glasses!!!! 

Well, when I opened their traveling box, look at how they arrived!!!!!!!

Painted suitcase!

Before I started painting on canvas I did flower paintings on watering cans, and small furniture pieces. I got this suitcase 20 years ago for $1.50 at the thrift store. I knew it would make a perfect surface for painting with ordinary craft paints. I needed something to hold my garden catalogs. This was when I spent a lot of time in the garden. I loved planting seeds and seeing what  appeared 4-5 months later!

Late night collage!

So, I worked in the garden all day and planted seeds, tied back bulbs, weeded, fed the roses, and general tidying up! It felt good to be outside!!!

I missed doing some art. I was garden inspired and decided to put together a 7"x7" collage!

I used a color copy for the background of my monoprint and added collage sheet image and some stamps.

I call it "hope"!

Finishing a project I started in 2005!!!!!!!!!

I was just starting out with Yahoo groups and joined my first, Decoupage with Durwin Rice. I learned so much with this group about cut, paste, finish. One of the ladies in the group had pre cut ready to finish placemats. They were the perfect size for the pictures in the book. I thought it wood be fun to do a set of 8 using some of my favorite illustrations(mostly of dining) . Well, I finished 3! It is very labor intensive to get it put on nicely and then I have to add at least 10 coats of varnish so they are stain resistant.

I am cleaning out the drawers in the dining room and found them. So, I promised my self to finish this project! Copies have been made of the originals and all I have to do is size them, cut, decoupage and varnish.

Some of you have seen this before. I wrote these thoughts the night I found out my dear friend died after a 2 1/2 year battle with ovarian cancer. I had gone by to say good by since we were going on vacation and I would see her when we returned. She said, "have a great time"!

I went to a garage sale on saturday and got the greatest buy!!!!

Happy Birthday Kyle and kyle's mom, Julie!

Kyle's 8th grade class celebrated his birthday in a grand manner. Special t-shirts, designed by the class were worn when they presented a check to Riley, Julie, and Michael(family) for monies raised by the class for

I have this baseball cap I wear that has his name on it(nonnie,gave it to me) and Kyle accompanies me on many adventures! We have had some fun times!

Next time you look up at the sky and see something beautiful, I am pretty sure Kyle had something to do with it!
