WOYWW/ baby furniture!

Birds made from paper.
I scanned fabric scraps from my mother in law who was a quilter. Printed on paper.
I am going to decoupage them on a small table that was my moms "sewing" table. This is for my FIRST grand baby, a little girl who will arrive early October!
I have to attach images with decoupage medium and then add several coats of varnish. Half way done!

haiku my heart!

This is the original photo I started with from google. I dropped in some color and added a low density image of a bird from Deviantscrap. I then did a filter...but not sure which one. Just play with this image and see what "you" get. Thanks for the nice comments!!!

sunday postcard! Travel and Paintparty friday

Room with a view!
Pastel painting of roof top from our room in Venice, 1998 trip.
I was fascinated by the colors and the pastels worked perfectly to get the intensity of light and dark.

My middle name is ANNE, born August 4, 1944

On the morning of 4 August 1944, the Achterhuis was stormed by German uniformed police (Grüne Polizei) following a tip from an informer who was never identified.[33] Led by SS-Oberscharführer Karl Silberbauer of the Security Service, the group included at least three members of the Security Police. The Franks, van Pelses, and Pfeffer were taken to Gestapo headquarters, where they were interrogated and held overnight. On 5 August they were transferred to the Huis van Bewaring (House of Detention), an overcrowded prison on the Weteringschans.
When I discovered these coincidental dates , it was bittersweet. I read her book as a teenager and admired so her sense of hope and making the best of all situations, finding the positive in the negative. I feel a sense of responsibility to emulate her wonderful attitude.
Why not seek the positive and share the smile!
I hope you all find a silver lining.

starlets/ Rita Hayworth

I have loved movies from as long as I can remember. I especially liked the dance movies....
singing in the rain, seven brides for seven brothers, all the zeigfield and busby berkley extravaganzas!
Rodgers and Hmmerstein, anything with Jane Powell! I would memorize the words and then perform a pantomime dance as the record was started on the "victrola" by my sister. Mom and Dad were my living room audience to my productions. What fun for me to be a star!
I love this challenge for the memories and the information and pictures that are always included!
Even if you don't play, go by this blog and enjoy the trip down memory lane or an introduction to the golden age of movies!
